			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;">Friends of Tahiti is a non-profit 501(c)(3), cultural and charitable organization founded in 1969. Our goal is to promote friendship, understanding and cultural awareness between the people of French Polynesia and the United States through education and the cultural arts. The primary objectives and purposes of Friends of Tahiti are (according to our bylaws) :</p>
<ul>
<li>To promote friendship and cultural understanding between the people of French Polynesia and the United States through education, cultural arts exposure, and travel.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>To provide education to the general public in cultural arts, language, dance and music.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>To provide public performances of authentic native entertainment and competitions.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>To encourage and promote travel between the United States and French Polynesia.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>To establish and maintain an awareness of the Polynesian influence and needs in our community.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>To promote friendship and create community action.</li>
